"When they say you can’t take it with you, they don’t mean books, do they?" – Doris Ann Norris
Saturday, November 2nd @ 2:30pm
The Bouchercon 2019 Librarians’ Tea has been designed to not only honor our cherished librarians, but also to celebrate the art of taking tea. A traditional English tea will be prepared for 400 in the hotel’s kitchen by The Royal Chef, Darren McGrady — former personal chef for both the Queen of England and Princess Diana and her sons. A list of Bouchercon attendees has been established. Please email Bcon2019@gmail.com if you would like to place your name on the list.
Texas author Susan Wittig Albert will serve as Honorary Chair.
American Guest of Honor, Hank Phillippi Ryan, will deliver the official librarians’ welcome.
Local Guest of Honor Deborah Crombie will introduce Chef McGrady.
Chef McGrady will share tales of his royal service, instruct guests on proper tea etiquette, and sign copies of his cookbooks.
Librarians will be seated first. A waiting list of Bouchercon non-librarian attendees who’ve requested to be able to be seated for the tea, has been created. Please email Bcon2019@gmail.com if you would like to place your name on the waiting list.
