Nero Wolfe Banquet
Friday, November 1st | 6:30–10:30pm
Location: BRYAN BEEMAN ROOM
As Nero Wolfe was both a gourmand and a gourmet, it is fitting that during Bouchercon, the Wolfe Pack will be independently hosting a lavish banquet in his honor. Event registration includes dinner (with wine) and passed hors d’oeuvres. A cash bar will be available.
The Wolfe Pack, the ardent lovers of all things Nero Wolfe, gather to toast the infamous sedentary brain trust created by Rex Stout. And of course, these Wolfians also raise a glass to Mr. Wolfe’s wise-cracking, devoted sidekick, Archie Goodwin.
In honor of Bouchercon’s 50th Anniversary, we pay tribute to the great private eye and his creator. Rex Stout wrote 33 novels, as well as 41 novellas and short stories, all the while indulging Nero Wolfe’s love of orchids, good food and even better wine. To create the menu for the annual Wolfe Pack dinner, the original recipes were pulled from these novels and stories: The Doorbell Rang, Wolfe’s 1930 Dinner Party, The Father Hunt, The Rubber Band, The Kanawha Spa Dinner, Fourth of July Dinner, A Right to Die, Too Many Clients and Blood Will Tell. Which dishes will be on the menu? These are your only clues! So, slip on a yellow shirt, pour a glass of wine, tend the orchids, and see what comes to you.
TICKETS: $175 (Registration is available now—Access your existing convention registration and select Nero Wolfe Banquet as an agenda item.)
We eat. We drink. We sing. We toast.
We have fun! We’re the Wolfe Pack!
