Bouchercon 2019 has partnered with Dallas Independent School District to conduct a teen writing contest to identify and encourage young mystery writers.

The 30 finalists’ stories will be compiled in an anthology and placed in all 28 DISD high school libraries. The students will have a sense of achievement to see their work in print. The Dallas Public Library will host a lunch to honor these emerging teen writers, Friday, October 25th, prior to Bouchercon. City of Dallas, Dallas Independent School District, and State of Texas officials will be present to honor the contest finalists. Medals and cash prizes will be awarded to the contest winners by author James Patterson at a Bouchercon luncheon, Thursday, October 31st.
